I have significant experience in teaching and leading maths, as well as developing the teaching and leadership of maths in others. This includes:
- 15 years as a head of department, director of learning, and assistant principal with responsibility for mathematics securing strong outcomes and developing a curriculum that others used to visit the school to see in action.
- Part of cohort 1 of the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) secondary mastery specialist program, and then assistant maths hub lead for secondary, working with work groups and mastery specialists in training to develop their practice and practice across their schools.
- NCETM accredited PD lead, leading professional development for schools and trusts across the country.
- Specialist Leader in Education for Secondary Mathematics supporting two schools to improve departmental practice.
- Experienced Challenge Partners reviewer contributing to curriculum, inclusion and teaching and learning reviews across the country.
- Countless speaking appearances at ResearchEd conferences, Complete Maths conferences and Maths hub regional conferences (to name a a few).
- Completed NPQSL with a score of 27/28.
- Completed Level 7 apprenticeship in Leadership and Management, graded distinction.
- Complete Masters in Educational Leadership, graded merit.
- Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and the Chartered Management Institute, as well as accreditation as a Chartered Manager.
